Blog #6 Mini-Lesson

Inquiry learning for the students at my school means allowing the students to dig through information and sort through information that is accurate and inaccurate, so they can gain a deeper understanding about what they are learning. The students have access to the tools needed to inquire facts and collaborate with other students to synthesize and produce a final product. Students are allowed to make mistakes, so that when they talk to their peers they can exchange knowledge that will help them go beyond the basic facts. Students will have the opportunity collaborate on their project based task and I can facilitate and release the students that have an understanding of their goal. My mini-lessons will be more student-centered and with some support from me they will be able to work independently. I will provide opportunities to explore the tools and ask questions about the information and work in groups. Symbaloo will be a great mini lesson because it will allow the students to learn about being digital citizens and then explore tiles for reading and math that will help guide their learning and reach their goals. I will enhance their learning by providing a nontraditional way for the students to show me they understand the standard through various tools and apps on the Ipad and I will extend their learning by providing students the opportunity to connect their learning the their home life and experiences for a deeper understanding.
